The Brassica database (BRAD) is a web-based database of whole genome scale genetic data for important Brassica crops. It now provides datasets such as the complete Brassica A genome sequence from B. rapa (Chiifu-401), comprised of sequence scaffolds derived from de novo assembly using second-generation sequencing technologies. Also included are the predicted genes and associated annotations (InterPro, KEGG2, SwissProt), the B. rapa genes orthologous to those in Arabidopsis thaliana, as well as genetic markers and maps of B. rapa. Transcriptome data from B. rapa will be available soon. BRAD is continuously updated as the research progresses. We also accept genetic and genomic data of Brassica crops submitted by the research community.
BRAD is open to the public with free registration.
